PhDr. Martin Rusek, Ph.D., Is an assistant professor at Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague. After finishing his master degree in the field of teaching chemistry and technical and ICT education, he started teaching at the Department of Chemistry and Chemistry Education, Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, where he passed a Ph.D. programme in the field of pedagogy – specialization in Chemistry Education.

since 2014 – assistant professor at Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague
since 2014 – co-editor of Scientia in educatione journal
since 2013 - guarantee of production of inspection tools at Czech School Inspectorate (ČŠI) – leader of a group for Scientific literacy
Further, he is a member of an expert group focused on chemistry education organized by the National Institute for Education (NÚV). Since 2011, he has also been a head of the organization committee of International Student Conference Project-based Education in Science Education held annually at Faculty of Education.
He has presented results of his research in lectures at conferences and has been an editor or a co-editor of 4 proceedings from the above mentioned conference. So far he has published over 40 papers in journals and proceedings.
In his research, he has been focusing on chemistry education at non-chemical vocational schools, Czech curricular system, students’ attitudes towards chemistry, using ICT in chemistry education and activating educational methods. Lately, he has been focusing on educational standards and indicators and scientific literacy development on preprimary, primary and secondary levels.
